I had a doctor's appointment today to make sure everything was going ok. I needed the reassurance after having a nightmare I had last night about things going wrong with the pregnancy. It wasn't very realistic, but seemed so vivid that it woke me up and made me worry.
Anyway, Shaun wasn't able to be at the appointment, but all went well. I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time and it sounded like a horse running it as pumping so fast! Every once in a while there would be a staticy noise that interrupted it, and the doc said that was the baby moving! Thump-thump, thump-thump, kshhhkshh, thump-thump, thump-thump... It was so cool! Again, VERY REASSURING that something IS in there, and that it's healthy with a strong, consistent heartbeat.
In other news, Shaun got an offer today from a company he interviewed with back in October! They wanted him to start last December because they needed the position filled right away, but he couldn't do it because he doesn't graduate until May. (Only 10 more weeks!!!) They e-mailed him today saying a Quality Control Management position just opened up, and they want to make him an offer to start in May soon after he graduates. The company is called "Torotel" and they are a military and aerospace contractor based in Kansas City, KS.
Shaun is also leaving Thursday morning to go to Dallas, TX and interview for two days with BNSF (Burlington North Santa Fe) Railroad. He has had one phone interview with them already, and they were very impressed. Hopefully this next interview will go just as well, if not better, so we can get an offer and have options to choose from.
THEN he interviews with UP (Union Pacific) on March 17 in KC! The interviews are jumping at him! We just have to wait and see if the offers will soon too.
There's so much to think about!!!
It's hard not knowing where we'll end up after graduation. As it stands we have no idea where Shaun will be working or where we'll be moving to or where our little one will be born. It all depends on where the Lord needs us after graduation because THAT is where the job will be. It's comforting to know that SOMEONE knows where we're going. We're doing our part to find a job, and the Lord will do the rest because only He knows where we need to be, and He will lead us there.
Today has been a good day. We're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel of uncertainty with these job opportunities, and I thank my Heavenly Father for that. He is that light, and He's guiding us to our new home.
